    Time: 2:00 PM – 3:00 PM
    Place: Online at https://tinyurl.com/yxa39qxp
Presenters: Moderated by Rebecca Jozwiak, Library Journal

Public libraries are the heart of open access to information and entertainment resources in their communities. They take as their mission to serve citizens from all corners of a community, and as institutions, they are more than just a building with dedicated people. Finding creative ways to reach citizens who are not aware of what the library has to offer, or who may be unable to access the programming and resources at a physical location, is an increasing challenge for modern librarians.

In this webinar, you’ll hear from a diverse group of enterprising librarians who will discuss some of their strategies for reaching community members outside the library, including populations who are often disadvantaged and underserved. From programs at county jails, to housing offices and local businesses, learn from our panel of librarians about how they are collaborating with nontraditional community partners to bring access to all.

Can’t make the date? No problem!Register now and you will receive an email post-event with the URL to access the on demand recording at your convenience.

  • Free Webinar – “Just One Thing” : Training Staff for Community Engagement

    Date: Tuesday, February 26, 2019
    Time: 2:00 PM – 3:00 PM
    Place: Online at https://tinyurl.com/yy4rrnjs
Presenters: Rachel Hadidi and Rachel Yzaguirre, Plano Public Library

Enhance the customer experience by increasing staff engagement! Learn how the Plano Public Library created a cohesive customer service experience by training staff to share “just one thing” about the library. Staff became more comfortable with patron interactions and engaged with more people during outreach. This concept became a cornerstone to the Outreach & Engagement team’s training and communications. With this concept in place, specific staff were identified for different types of outreach events to address the needs of different communities in their city. The presenters will share information about lessons learned, implementation strategies, internal marketing tips and tricks, and expanding programming outside of library walls.

This webinar will be of interest to all public library staff, including library managers and directors.

THIS WEBINAR IS FREE, BUT REGISTRATION IS REQUIRED AND SPACE IS LIMITED. You can register for this webinar until it begins, or until space is no longer available, whichever comes first. Please do not register unless you are sincere about attending the live webinar. Space is limited, and signing up and not attending may deprive someone else of the opportunity. Thank you for your cooperation.
